What should I do to prepare for my tarot reading?

So you’ve read the guide, booked a reading, and now it’s almost time for your session! If you’ve never had a reading before, there are a few things you can do to make sure you get the most out of your experience.
Please set aside the appropriate amount of time for your reading. This is to make sure there are no scheduling conflicts so you can start and end on time. Some clients find it helpful to set aside a few minutes after the reading for reflection.
Do your best to ensure that you won’t be disturbed or distracted during your reading. Turn off your cell phone, go into a private room where no one will disturb you, turn off the TV, etc.
Start to think about your question. Spend a few minutes before your reading to think of what question or topic you would like to focus on during the reading.
Relax. Techniques such as mediation, breathwork, and visualization can help you become more in tune with yourself and help you focus on your reading.

How much time should I set aside for my reading?

I recommend setting aside at least ten minutes before and after your scheduled reading.
 
You can use the ten minutes before the reading to relax and focus on your question or topic. This allows for a clearer reading since your mind will be less cluttered by other thoughts and feelings.
 
Setting aside ten minutes after the reading provides time for you to process and reflect on your reading.
 
It's always beneficial to take a few moments for yourself whenever possible!

While you don't necessarily need a question for your reading, most people tend to have a specific topic or situation they'd like some clarity on.  Coming up with a question for a reading can be difficult if you've never done it before, but here are some great tips to craft a question that can be answered by the cards or crystal ball.
 
Use open-ended questions
Try to avoid questions that can be answered with a "yes" or "no."
Keep an open mind
Even if you're asking a question you think you know the answer to, don't be surprised if it's different than what you expected.
Limit your questions
Sometimes we can get excited about our reading and want to know everything. However, try to focus on one or two questions or topics for your reading. This allows you to focus on what's truly important to you and allows the cards to give you a more detailed answer.
Stay positive
Take time before your reading to relax and try some meditation or breathing techniques. This will not only help you focus on your question but also put you in a more relaxed and positive space.
